The People’s Archive is a crowdsourced project for members of the public to share stories of their objects and items from the revolutionary period, 1913-1923. These objects will be photographed, documented and presented on this website in order to share Cork City’s social and cultural heritage with the widest possible audience.
In The Revolution Collection, we use a Cork City lens to explore the lives of ordinary people against the backdrop of important events including the 1916 Rising, the first sitting of Dáil Éireann, the struggle for independence, the foundation of the Irish Free State, partition, the civil war, and many other key events and themes of that period
